[At least Gabriel, Gabriel, because there was no mask or leather in sight, was out in front of the house when 76 walked up. A few of the dogs scattered about around him, the newest one just grumpily laying and watching from the porch—


... and that was a very large red bird that was following Gabe around as he was collecting things from the porch and tossing them in to a bucket. The remains of pumpkins, more than likely.

Roxy pretty much had her back reaching close to his shoulders. How the hell did she grow so big so fast? Or had it really been that long since 76 got to see her....]

[Sadly he has no hands to pet said doggos, but he greets them anyway, then looking up to see oh dear that bird has gotten big.

Very big.

He looks down at the saddles, then up to her, making a face - he's only got the visor on, no lower mask today - before approaching]

Alright, where're we fitting her?

[The dogs trail after him either way, and seem happy enough judging by wagging tails. Just happy to see someone else they're familiar with, even the two big girls were used to his presence and enjoyed it.

Gabriel looked up from where he was, Roxy giving a KWEH! in greeting with a bobbing of her head.

Dusting his hands off before catching the chocobo's attention with a whistle, walking towards the side of the house.]

Back yard's quieter, and I can distract her with a bit of food to keep her still. Or you can. Depends which end you want to be on with this.

[At least she was happy enough to follow.]

We'll both take a side. [Left or right, as opposed to head or tail.] But it'll definitely help if you distract her. Don't want to startle her with the weight of it.

[They're light, relatively speaking, but still. It's a new thing, and horses, at least, could spook easily. Who's to say about chocobos?]

[A hand lifting to pat the sudden head on his shoulder once Roxy gets close enough behind him, just nudging open the gate and walking in to the backyard like that.

This was a daily occurrence now.] I'm hoping the new weight won't startle her too much, been doing little bits of training with her. She can pull a cart, and I've pieced together bags I can drape over her back and add weight in to.

[It was more the... fastening of any saddle he was worried about.]

At least with food distracting her, she won't think it's a game.

Not if you've been associating food with training. Which I guess is a game to them. [Right, so just gonna set one on the ground and then - carefully - put a hand on Roxy's back. First seeing how she takes a little bit of pressure and weight as he runs down the feathers, as though petting her]

Yeah, they see it as a game while people ten to take it all as work. [Well that was vague, wasn't it.

Still, Roxy didn't seem to mind the pressure and enjoyed the petting if her head tipping Jack's way was anything to go by- even if there was some strange attempt to birdy-nuzzle him at the attention. Like Gabriel had said, she was really affectionate.

No resistance to the pressure and weight, all the same.]

[Well, good, that means when he slips on the saddle there'll be no problem, right?

...right?

They're about to find out. He's gentle and keeps a hold on it - just in case - but gives it a few seconds before moving for the straps]

So far, so good.

[Gabriel kept a close eye on Roxy, a hand placed along her neck and petting soothingly when she did show signs of being a bit unsure of what was going on—]

Hey, sweetie. You're alright. This isn't any different than me hooking that cart up.

[Gabriel's voice took a much softer tone that.. probably hadn't been heard in a damn long time as far as Jack was concerned.

His eyes never left the chocobo, petting over feathers as she went still before moving enough to set it all back.

So far so good.]
