I've held chicks. [Just not any as big as this one. But he'll take her gently, and carefully look her over. As far as he can tell, she seems healthy...]

Short for Roxanne. [Didn't even ask for her back yet, like he figured Morrison wouldn't drop her as he was heading for the back door of the house-]

[It may or may not have looked like a small room attached to the house once they were out the back door. Had it's own door and everything and was actually big enough for a few people to stand in without feeling crowded.

And some nest-like bedding and things. Some little bird-safe toy ball in there don't ask.]

There's even a light flicked on in there, turning to hold his hands out in some silent asking to the chicabo back, just in case Morrison didn't want to keep holding her. Could if he wanted, but hey.]

[She's happy enough to return to him, and she even cuddles in against his chest. Reaper cradling her easily with one arm, her tucking into the crook, head rested against his chest with some pleased little chick sound.

Idly petting along the feathers of her back and head.]

One of my concerns, if this place would be warm enough for her. Still winter and all.

[His head cocked to one side-]

Figured she'd make for a good companion for my trips once she was big enough. Weirdly cute, and be worth the time and effort training her. [Glancing down at her nuzzling against his chest.] Know I'll have someone at my back if I need it.

Reaper probably didn't mean those words the way they hit Jack, but some actual frost glistens on his shoulders before he turns away. It could easily be just to investigate the shack, but mask or not, it keeps him from betraying his feelings more than he has.

Even his body language is tight. Tense.

It takes a few moments for him to respond. When he does, his voice is quiet, but even. Forcibly so]

Maybe a heat pad. Could build something to absorb heat, too, keep going throughout the night.

[Reaper leaned back against one of the walls, not even a creak to it with how sturdy he'd managed to build the place; at least there din't seem to be a draft, so it could have been worse. Even if he'd only been bringing the chick out here to get used to the area while

letting her stay inside with him. Literally, she was on her way to being house trained if he had anything to say about it.

He did glance up at the tone, brow furrowed behind the mask for a moment.]

Be a bit tricky, for the moment the best I could do is some sort of warm bedding.

[The words hadn't been directed at Morrison in anyway. He'd asked and Gabriel had answered, something else on his mind with them.]

Plenty of it, then. Enough so she can burrow if she needs to. [There's a few other things he points out, notably - or not - without so much as glancing towards Reaper. Still, he can't help but admit,] I'm making guesses here, based on chicks. You said she'd get as big as a horse- like an ostrich?

If you mean two legged, yeah. Literally big as a horse. [She was going to be B I G once she was near done growing.

He stepped away from the wall after a moment, sure his approach was heard before nudging 76 with an elbow of the free arm. A silent Want to hold her again or...? without saying much.] Think I can work on the begging thing, though.

Far too short, stands too upright for that.

[The passing of Roxy, who seems pretty damned content so long as she can snuggle and be pet. He'd tired her out earlier, honestly. High energy already.]

Some breeds can but I don't think she's one of them. Like some have magic and others are physically stronger, a will to fight alongside those they've bonded with and all that.

[Fingers curled before he was setting a hand against his mask and pulling it off, hand smoothing over facial hair as the bone white just.. vanished.]

[He shouldn't be surprised. And yet, sometimes he still is. Though, really, he's more surprised by the fact Reaper's removing the mask, even just to rub his face, and he can't help but look back at him with his own expression hidden by his mask]

Magic, and it apparently depends on what color they are the type it is.

[It sounded like a video game, but he was keeping that to himself.

Gabriel looked tired, dark circles under his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose and eyes closed. Maybe he was taking on more despite already having a lot to do, but it was better than sitting around doing nothing.]

Wonder if they'll remain like that as she gets older.

[76 takes in the sight silently, not remarking on it. How could he? Years ago, maybe he'd say something, but now...

Before we went out after the umbratalons I found a very malnourished cat and took her in, turned out she was just a few days away from having kittens, too. [Thank you for staying at the house while he was gone Zenyatta.]...

There are two runts that need to be hand fed, Morrison. I could use the help if you could spare a hand or two.

If you're asking for it, I'll give it. [He doesn't sound like he's jumping for joy over it, but he's...more surprised by the request than anything. Even if it's only so much a request as putting it out on the table. Either way, he shrugs a bit]

Yeah no, she'd spent most of her energy she'd sleep easy as Gabriel busied himself going back into the kitchen and got the 'formula' and things for the hand feeding and

He pulled out another bed from under the couch very carefully where said momma cat was curled up with six kittens starting to squirm and mew for food-]

Mind grabbing the smallest two while I get their milk ready? You can sit on the couch with them. [And that was Reaper's mask rested on the coffee table as he went.]
