Maybe it was the sentimental part of her, the kind that didn't want to view her old friends as anything other than how she remembered them, but it was hard to accept that any of her old team could have turned corrupt.]

I've been trying to piece together what's happened on my own, once I was able to. But I understand the frustration; being here is an inconvenience I hadn't planned on. [It was highly inconvenient being here, especially when there was still so much going on back home.]
